Julia Butterfly Hill, is among the most interesting environmentalists active today. Best known for spending over two years, 1997-1999, high in the branches of a redwood tree named Luna, Julia Hill remains active in environmental and social causes.

I painted this painting while Julia Butterfly was in Luna suffering with frostbite and enduring this heart felt sacrifice to say no more. Being an activist carrying for the Earth as well, she deeply touched so many through her courageous action. In prayer, I wanted to send her love by doing a healing painting of the Redwoods and support her quest and I wanted to financially support her cause. 

Luna was “saved” by an agreement between Hill and the Pacific Lumber Company.
